K's exhibition

She has been pestering me a lot for this…and finally I am doing it.
All of you are invited to a special preview of my elder one’s paintings. She is talented as you can see (and I hope this is not just mother’s pride talking here) but what I like most about her creativity is how she converts useless throwaway items into pieces of art. And as I show these, I pray that she keeps at this wonderful talent and doesn’t loose interest in it as she grows older...
These are the paintings she has done over two years with the guidance of a wonderful artist friend of mine who is so very unassuming and down-to-earth. I always like to think K is learning more than just art at her place but that she learns a lesson or two in humility too.

So here they go...

Do you remember this one below, UMMON, I had borrowed an Eid greeing card from you, well this is an attempted recreation of that

This one is her own attempt at creating a Warli painting...

I love this one, the effect looks good, though it is just crayons...

This one is also from an Eid greeting, she got a prize for this one too...

An earlier painting of hers...

And this one is in colour pencils done almost two years back...

And this is her attempt at creating something new, the colours are beautiful here aren't they?

This is what I like best, how she created beautiful pen-stands out of used soda cans...

The paintings are beautiful I specially liked the one where u said she attempted something new.

And trust me it is not just mother's pride, these are awesome pieces!!!!

Where has she inherited the talent from?

Sindhu...she is very creative and artistic. These painting are pretty realistic and balanced for a child. How old is she? I especially like the small details she's incorporated in the pictures...the stain glass window, the electricity wire, the small tiny leaf in the desert, the number 2 in the shirt.
keep encouraging her and i'm sure she'll not loose the interest

Wow...Amazing...Actually just words can't describe her work..Especially it's difficult to master oil paintings at this age...Inherited her mother's talent???

Nancy:
Thank you, and am I proud! well, everytime she does something new, I have to hide the cloud of tears in my eyes...
Smitha:
Thanks ya, lets hope she keeps at it with girls growing up and with studies and commitments, you can only hope...
Smitha of Books:
Should I say, she inherited this from me (I am tempted), I am an architect by profession but she is far beyond my league! I can just doodle, she can create...
Renu:
She has done a lot of those things, I will put up pictures when I can on these interestng things she creates, like bookmarks and penstands and even an organizer with tissue box.
Sunshine:Thanks A...will do that.
Navami: See, there is talent in the family, no da!
Sijoy:Hmm, thanks, she is much more talented, she has both of our traits and her own added to it...
