Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

No, I am not humming the sexy song...but describing the weather in Doha. I should add it is boiling hot...and we are sweltering in the heat.
The office Air conditioners give up their futile attempt of bringing down the inside temperature, by noon they go off dejectedly and we complain, curse and sweat...
With the outside temperatures hitting 50 degress and climbing, my mind wanders to the construction workers - if there are any outside. I hope the Government jurisdiction passed recently in Qatar on time schedules at construction sites are being strictly followed, for who can venture out into sites and touch boiling hot steel rods or even stand on them?
It is said that though the governments takes action against contractors, there are some scrupulous contractors who in their hurry to make extra bucks, disregard the warning and allow labourers to continue with their work in this unbearable condition. So guys in the blogosphere, keep your eyes open (those in the Middle East) and let’s keep our vigil against these money mongers and get them booked.
On another note, imagine the conditions of gardens and our poor plants, fighting hard to keep their heads up in this blazing fire...
My plants are all withering, I water them with cool water thrice a day, but I know I am waging a losing battle. My plants have lost the will to fight, but I will keep trying.
This is how my garden looked a week back,

And this is how it is now...

and these are the badly suffering ones...

Goodness! It is hot there!

Here the temp touched 23 deg and we were complaining of the heat.

And poor plants! And there is not much you can do , either , is there? Hope the heat reduces soon.

Sashu:After a long time..and good that you are back.
Swaram: It is sad, and you can do nothing to stop it. Botht the plants drying and the workers suffering.
Smitha: It is hot...though today being windy, temp is a bot low. But a deadly combination, heat, wind (so sand on ur face)and humidity...

"With the outside temperatures hitting 50 degress and climbing, my mind wanders to the construction workers - if there are any outside."you know ,Sindhu, this is exactly what I feel too whenever I get out the comforts of my home. and my heart goes out to them. I read that bit about the govt jurisdiction too. I sincerely hope they are adhered to by all the builders and contracting companies.

I remember how much J & I admired the newly grown tomatoes in your garden when we came to your house on N's b'day. They looked so tempting!!

You're so right this scorching heat is killing the poor plants :(

Smitha: I am waiting to go home too...to the rains.
SG:Welcome here...so u know our plight.
Deeps: no tomatoes now,all have dried up.

That's much hotter than here and this heat feels like one is walking near a fire Sindhu!

It's horrible that construction workers are made to work in this heat... and even more horrible that they can't just refuse.

Contractors make workers work and the workers work because of some crunch!! How ppl take unreasonable advantage of others and there are people who have no option to get out of such situations!!

Wishing your plants the fighting complan spirit and Bournvita power the triple plus one :D :D

The heat there and the humidity here!! unbearable !!

Relfections: Yes, blame it all on the heat...but don't let the heat dry out ur creativity! I will be pinching u out of our BB...
IHM: The govt rule seems to have had an effect, I dont see the cranes working in the morning, they start by evening and work through the night.
Samwedana:I feel sad when the plants dry out...and so happy when a new leaf comes, as if we were behind this creation!
PNA: No amount of Complan or Bournvita will get them up, some have given up, the bigger ones are holding on.
